Certified Nursing Assistants are health care providers who helps nurses in various task like collection of data for basic signs like blood pressure, temperature and pulse, etc. They help patients in fall prevention, prevention of pressure sores, proper positioning and safe transfers. They assist patients in achieving independence and reduce their pain using restorative nursing, modalities and ROM exercises. They assists in improving cognitive functions, feeding, ambulation, toilet training, cleaning, personal hygiene and safe transfers,

certified Nursing Assistant are employed in hospitals, nursing homes and at clients home.

It is a PREREQUISITE to get admission in ASSOCIATE DEGREE IN NURSING.

Become a Healthcare Professional in shortest time. At City College of Education you can complete the Phlebotomy technician certification in four weeks and take exam for the national certification.

The profession of Phlebotomy is taught through didactics, student laboratory, and clinical experiences. The student will be trained to perform a variety of blood collection methods using proper techniques and precautions including: vacuum collection devices, syringes, capillary skin puncture, butterfly needles and
blood culture specimen collection on adults, children and infants. Emphasis will be placed on infection prevention, proper patient identification, proper labeling of specimens, and quality assurance. Students will be taught specimen handling, processing, policies and procedures. Students will learn the theory and principles of CLIA waived laboratory tests and performance.  The testing
performed will include: manual hematologists, Urinalysis dipsticks, fecal occult blood, erythrocyte sedimentation rate, pregnancy testing, etc.
